It was hard to believe today was February 23. The temperatures felt more like April 23! It was a spectacular day to be outside, and it spurred more plants into thinking it is truly spring. The forecast for Friday night is not as promising with a chance of a frost in many parts of the state. Keep our fingers crossed that little gets damaged. This morning I was reading a Facebook post by my good friend and spectacular horticulturist Gerald Klingaman. Here is what he posted about his forsythia:
I've recorded forsythia bloom time here in Fayetteville for over 40 years. Normal bloom time is March 5 to 10, with a range of Feb 28 to March 30. This year my driveway 'Spring Glory' is about full bloom today (Feb 22) about 14 to over 20 days early. It can't last.
